2+ months Our client, a leader in the energy space, is seeking an experienced Interim Controller to support their growing organization.

JOB SUMMARY

The Controller manages the business unit's accounting operations - monthly financial reporting, SOX internal controls, audit response, budgeting, credit and collections, payables, and loan compliance - while identifying process improvements and strengthening internal controls. This role supervises and coaches up to three direct reports.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Monitor project expenditures against budget; support the annual budget process alongside budget holders, and analyze/report on budget-to-actual variances, proactively recommending corrective action Manage multi-company consolidations and intercompany eliminations Own the monthly and annual closing/reporting process in compliance with US GAAP, ensuring accurate, timely financial statements and narratives are distributed to Management, Bank, and other stakeholders Drive continuous improvement in accounting systems, applications, and operational procedures, communicating value-added solutions to leadership Maintain SOX-compliant internal controls and safeguards across all in-scope business processes Partner with the corporate treasurer on credit facility communication, cash flow, and covenant management Supervise direct reports and contribute to special projects as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA preferred 10+ years of US GAAP experience required Experience in a manufacturing, energy, or construction/project-based environment strongly preferred Project cost management experience is a plus Strong Excel, Word, and Oracle proficiency Prior supervisory/management experience with strong leadership and communication skills Strong problem-solving and analytical ability
