Job Description

The City of Sealy is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Finance Director. Under the administrative direction of the Assistant City Manager, this individual performs highly responsible administrative and supervisory work in the City's Finance Department and serves as the City Manager's office financial policy advisor. This individual will consult with the City Manager's office concerning overall fiscal administrative policy, budget preparations, debt management, the financial implications of purchasing and risk management. Preferred qualifications, experience, and knowledge include: Bachelor's degree in Finance or a related field; Public sector experience in a municipality as a senior financial officer; Municipal accounting, financing, budgeting, treasury, purchasing, tax, water, sewer, natural gas, and solid waste customer services and municipal operations; government purchasing, budgeting, risk management, and computerized financial systems; municipal and state laws, rules, and regulations that apply to city finances. This is an exempt position; hourly salary range is: $36.69 to $51.36. Applicants interested in this position must submit a completed application to the Human Resources office. EOE.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Finance or related field (Master's Degree preferred) Ten (10) years of public sector experience in a municipality as a senior financial officer preferred Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred Certified Government Finance Officer (CGFO) preferred Valid Texas Class "C" Driver's License Must have ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, criminal background, credit, and MVR check
