full-time About the Opportunity A growing manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Plant Controller to lead financial operations at a production facility. This position serves as the primary financial partner to plant leadership, providing oversight of accounting, cost management, inventory controls, budgeting, forecasting, and operational performance analysis. The Plant Controller will play a key role in driving financial visibility across the facility, supporting strategic decision making, maintaining strong internal controls, and partnering with corporate finance and operations teams to improve profitability and efficiency. Key Responsibilities Lead all plant accounting and finance activities, including monthly close, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Serve as a strategic business partner to plant leadership by providing financial insights, operational analysis, and recommendations that support profitability and performance improvement. Manage the facility's cost accounting function, including standard costing, manufacturing variances, labor and overhead analysis, product profitability, and inventory valuation. Maintain financial oversight of raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods inventory while driving improvements in inventory accuracy, working capital, inventory turns, and reserve management. Partner with operations, supply chain, and procurement teams to identify cost-saving opportunities, improve efficiency, and resolve inventory or production-related issues. Ensure compliance with accounting policies, GAAP requirements, and internal controls related to manufacturing operations, inventory, fixed assets, purchasing, and plant expenditures. Support internal and external audits, balance sheet reconciliations, and the maintenance of a strong control environment. Act as the finance lead for ERP and manufacturing systems, ensuring the integrity of bills of materials, routings, inventory transactions, labor standards, and cost data. Develop and enhance financial reporting, dashboards, KPIs, and analytics to support data-driven decision making throughout the organization. Evaluate capital investment opportunities, support CAPEX planning and tracking, and maintain financial controls over fixed assets and major projects. Monitor and report on key performance metrics, including gross margin, inventory turns, PPV, scrap, labor efficiency, working capital, forecast accuracy, EBITDA, and overall plant profitability. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. CPA, CMA, or other relevant professional certification preferred. 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including manufacturing environments. Experience with ERP platforms such as SAP, Dynamics 365, Epicor, NetSuite, or similar systems. Proven ability to support continuous improvement initiatives and operational decision making.
