Job Description

Key Responsibilities Inventory & Cost Accounting :
Oversee inventory valuation (FIFO/LIFO/weighted average), track shrinkage, spoilage, and obsolescence, and analyze margins by product line and customer.
Accounting Operations :
Manage day-to-day general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable (collections from grocers/restaurants), and payroll. [1, 2, 3]
Financial Reporting :
Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP. [1, 2]
Internal Controls :
Enforce financial policies to protect company assets, particularly regarding warehouse inventory and logistics spending. [1]
Budgeting & Forecasting :
Lead annual budgeting and rolling cash-flow forecasts. [1, 2]
Compliance :
Ensure adherence to FDA, USDA, OSHA, and local health regulations, alongside standard tax and corporate compliance. [1, 2]
Qualifications & Skills Education :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CMA designation preferred.
Experience :
7 to 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a management role. Distribution, manufacturing, or food-service industry experience is strongly preferred.
Technical Skills :
Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced Excel.
Industry Knowledge :
Strong grasp of perishable inventory turnover, freight/logistics cost accounting, and vendor rebate management.
Pay:
From $100,000.00 per year
