Position Overview Our client is seeking an experienced Controller to lead the accounting and financial operations of a growing Government Contracting (GovCon) organization. The Controller will oversee the company's accounting function, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance while ensuring adherence to FAR, CAS, and government contract accounting requirements . The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Deltek Costpoint and a proven background in Government Contracting finance and accounting . A CPA is preferred . Key Responsibilities Lead and oversee day-to-day accounting and financial operations. Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes. Prepare and analyze financial statements, management reports, and financial forecasts. Oversee Deltek Costpoint accounting, reporting, and financial processes. Ensure accurate accounting for government contracts, including direct and indirect costs. Manage indirect rate calculations, allocation methodologies, and rate monitoring. Ensure compliance with
FAR, CAS, DCAA
requirements , and applicable government contracting regulations. Support DCAA audits, incurred cost submissions, and government audits . Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and internal controls. Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and cash management. Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities. Partner with program/project leadership to monitor contract financial performance, revenue, costs, and profitability. Analyze variances between actual results, budgets, and forecasts and provide recommendations to leadership. Support contract proposals, pricing, and financial analysis as needed. Manage and mentor accounting and finance staff. Partner with executive leadership on strategic financial planning and business decisions. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field . 10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience , including Controller-level or senior accounting responsibilities. Government Contracting (GovCon) experience is required. Deltek Costpoint experience is required. Strong knowledge of FAR, CAS, DCAA, and government contract accounting principles . Experience with indirect cost structures, overhead allocation, and government contract financial reporting. Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting. Demonstrated leadership and team management experience. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively with executive leadership, program managers, auditors, and government stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications CPA certification preferred. Experience supporting DCAA audits and incurred cost submissions . Experience with government contract proposals, pricing, and forward pricing rates. Experience working with Costpoint Deltek in a multi-contract environment. Prior experience in a small-to-mid-sized government contracting organization. Knowledge of timekeeping, labor charging, indirect rates, and contract cost structures .
