Job Description
Our East Bay manufacturing client is seeking a Controller on a Long-term Contract basis. This position will play a central role in strengthening accounting operations, improving financial visibility, and supporting a manufacturing environment through disciplined controls and reliable reporting. The ideal candidate will bring strong NetSuite expertise, sound leadership in corporate accounting, and the ability to guide teams through process improvement while maintaining accuracy and efficiency. The position is on-site (preferred) and is expected to pay $75-85 DOE.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with finance, accounting, IT, and operational leaders to complete remaining NetSuite implementation activities and prepare the organization for a successful launch
- Review and formalize accounting workflows and standard operating procedures within NetSuite to support consistent and accurate transaction processing
- Train accounting staff on essential NetSuite functions, provide day-to-day guidance, and help resolve issues during adoption and stabilization
- Verify opening balances, chart of accounts mappings, master records, inventory data, and cost accounting elements before system conversion and go-live
- Create and validate financial and operational reporting in NetSuite to deliver dependable information for leadership decision-making
- Build and refine the month-end close structure, including task ownership, deadlines, reconciliations, and control checkpoints in the new environment
- Lead ongoing close activities after go-live, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, inventory accounting, and preparation of financial statements
- Assess control, reporting, and process weaknesses, then work with appropriate stakeholders to improve efficiency, compliance, and data accuracy
- Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, credit and collections, sales tax compliance, and broader finance operations as needed
- Drive continuous NetSuite optimization by identifying automation opportunities, improving reporting capabilities, and mentoring accounting team members
