This position oversees the district's financial operations, including budgeting, accounting, financial reporting, payroll, grants, purchasing, cash management, audits, and long-range financial planning.

We are looking for a leader who can see beyond the numbers, someone who understands the complexities of public-school finance, communicates financial information clearly, develops effective systems, and helps district leaders and the School Board make informed and sustainable decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the development, administration, and monitoring of the district's annual budget.

Provide long-range financial planning, forecasting, and analysis.

Oversee accounting, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, purchasing, grants, and financial reporting.

Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.

Coordinate the district's annual audit and financial reporting processes.

Prepare and present clear financial information to the Superintendent, School Board, administrators, staff, and community.

Monitor state and federal education funding and assess the financial impact of legislative and regulatory changes.

Supervise and support business office staff while building efficient, responsive financial systems.

Serve as a collaborative member of the district leadership team and contribute to districtwide strategic planning and decision-making.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in financial management, budgeting, accounting, or a closely related field. Experience in public education is strongly preferred.

Candidates should possess strong analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership skills; a thorough understanding of sound accounting and internal-control practices; and the ability to translate complex financial information for a variety of audiences.

A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, public administration, or a related field is required. An advanced degree, CPA, or other relevant professional credential is strongly preferred.
