Compensation:
$95,000 annually
POSITION SUMMARY
The Part-Time Controller will manage financial reporting, general ledger entries, cash flow and internal controls. This is a part-time position with the potential for future transition to full-time based on business needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Direct daily accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
  • Maintain the general ledger, reconciliations, fixed assets and journal entries required to close each month.
  • Ensure accurate, timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting.
  • Manage intercompany transactions and the existing AP/billing processes; recommend improvements where needed.
  • Manage month-end and year-end closing processes and account reconciliations.
  • Partner with leadership to prepare budgets, forecasts and financial analyses. Prepare owner-level financial reports and crop-year budgets vs actuals.
  • Weekly cash flow forecasting, bank accounts and lender reporting.
  • Oversee external audit processes, coordinate with outside CPA firm on estimates, year-end and tax filings.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in accounting roles preferred, preferably in agriculture or a similar industry.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel required.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills required.
  • Excellent communication and people skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy required.
  • Experience with Famous Accounting systems preferred.
  • Experience in working with multiple, integrated companies preferred.
