We are seeking an experienced and motivated Controller to lead our accounting and financial operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on financial professional who enjoys working in a dynamic business environment and contributing to the success of a locally owned cooperative. Position Summary The Controller is responsible for managing all accounting functions, financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls, cash management, and regulatory compliance. This position works closely with senior management to provide financial insight and support strategic decision-making. Essential Responsibilities Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets. Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Coordinate year-end audits and tax reporting. Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis processes. Monitor cash flow and banking relationships. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Develop and maintain internal controls and accounting procedures. Supervise and mentor accounting staff. Assist management with financial planning and business analysis. Support special projects and operational initiatives as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience. Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls. Experience managing accounting personnel. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel. CPA designation or public accounting experience preferred but not required.
