Job Description:

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories seeks a professional Facilities Maintenance Technician who has experience with methods, practices and equipment used in facilities management and activities including a variety of building trades work. Successful candidates will have expertise in performing preventative maintenance on buildings, including but not limited to; skilled electrical, painting, plumbing and mechanical work, door hardware, exit and emergency lighting. In addition, a high level of customer service, quality effort and building of respectful working relationships is expected in this role. This position is Monday

• Friday on swing shift (2:00pm

As a Facilities Maintenance Technician , a typical day might include the following: With minimal guidance execute facilities services and repairs of moderate complexity including custodial, furniture set-ups, moves, event set-ups, engravings, and grounds work. Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; plan and perform routine maintenance. Assist employees in routine duties, techniques, and department goals. Perform basic repairs or equipment installations, painting, and small carpentry repairs. Accurately complete all stocking, ordering, and custodial related duties and ensure the proper care and maintenance of equipment and supplies. Coach and train employees in routine and technical duties, techniques, while working collaboratively to achieve department goals. Follow and promote continuous improvement of workplace safety, environmental practices, area processes, and waste reduction opportunities. This job might be for you if you: Are able to independently operate custodial related equipment and use applicable chemicals, supplies, hand, and power tools. Are able to perform basic repairs including carpentry, painting, and equipment installation. Demonstrate the ability to effectively and efficiently complete projects and tasks. Can read, understand, follow, and strictly enforce safety procedures. Have 4 years of experience in commercial facility maintenance and operations. Have experience with maintenance, repair and installation of HVAC, electrical, and/or plumbing. Possess a valid driver's license.

Lift and maneuver 40 pounds frequently Pull weight from high/low shelves Ability to safely ascend and descend ladders Reach, bend, grip, twist Stand for at least 8 hours
