Job Description

Position Overview The Vice President of Finance oversees the accounting operations for YVFWC and any subsidiaries, including payroll, general ledger, receivables, payables, and asset management. Ensures compliance with internal controls and GAAP, manages financial reporting, audits, and oversees budgeting. The role collaborates with various levels of leadership to ensure alignment with business goals and supports the CFO with financial analysis, projections, and modeling. Key Responsibilities Directs the day-to-day functions of payroll, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, grants and asset management, financial reporting, and budgeting/reporting. Oversees department day-to-day operations, ensuring timely record-keeping of the financial books in accordance with GAAP, including Uniform Guidance Federal audit guidelines. Oversees financial general ledger activity and promptly communicates any significant changes to the CFO. Maintains oversight of capital assets and depreciation schedules, ensuring proper classification and capitalization of expenses. Oversees month-end, quarterly, and annual processes to ensure general ledger closing, preparation of financial statements, account reconciliations, and variance analysis. Directs preparation of quarterly and annual tax reports and returns. Ensures implementation of tax regulations, as well as filing of all tax returns for the parent company and affiliates. Directs annual audits as well as periodic state reviews and audits. Oversees preparation of reports pertaining to FQHC financial activities, including monthly financials, quarterly financials, Medicare Cost Report, Federal Financial Report, annual audit, UDS-Finance, and federal grant reporting. Collaborates with other managers to ensure standard processes, communicate accounting procedures, and provide consultation regarding fiscal matters when necessary. Ensures that various fiscal deadlines are met and oversees internal reporting for the parent company and affiliates. Works with the CFO to establish and monitor internal controls and implement changes to improve fiscal operating systems. Provides oversight to ensure the timely and accurate fiscal and grants contract approval/management, including reporting for all federal, state, and program-specific funding sources. Collaborates with the Chief Financial Officer to oversee development of the annual operating and capital budgets, ensuring active participation from senior leadership, including clinic and program managers. Maintains the ability to monitor and report on budget variances on an ongoing basis. Monitors processes to ensure corporate purchasing complies with applicable regulations and bidding requirements and maximizes efficiencies. Contributes to forecasting efforts when evaluating business models. Leadership Responsibilities Coaches, mentors, and trains direct-report staff. Provides continuous performance management and conducts employee performance evaluations. Addresses performance and/or behavior issues, clarifying expectations and providing feedback. Supports staff growth and development and assesses the educational and experience needs of all levels of staff in collaboration with the individual. Encourages staff to seek educational opportunities incorporating job-related training in addition to mandatory training. Participates in the recruitment and selection of staff. Provides orientation to outline job requirements and expectations, policies and procedures, and proper use of tools and equipment. Builds and maintains a positive, collaborative, and inclusive work environment that values a range of perspectives and approaches. Demonstrates strong leadership in hiring, managing, and retaining high-performing team members from local communities. Fosters a culture of employee engagement and continuous improvement. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Education Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance. Required Experience Ten years' progressively responsible experience in managing Finance, Accounting, and/or Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) functions. Preferred Experience Five years' management experience with an organization of comparable size and complexity, healthcare industry preferred. Professional Licenses / Certifications Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Effective verbal, written, and listening communication skills with individuals and groups. Skills in problem solving, sound judgment, and conflict resolution. Strong analytical and decision-making skills to be able to assess the root cause of an issue and determine an optimal solution. Ability to prioritize work and manage a variety of tasks simultaneously, with frequent interruptions. Ability to interpret complex federal, state, and other governmental entities' regulations and procedures. Thorough knowledge of accounting, not-for-profit compliance, Uniform Guidance, and financial reporting. Ability to provide leadership and direction to both professional and clerical staff. Ability to provide valuable input to Executive Team for strategic planning. Strong project management skills. Effective consultative skills and ability to present to all levels of leadership. Advanced proficiency with a variety of computer programs, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and financial management software (Oracle ERP preferred). Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Physical requirements for this position include hearing, seeing, speaking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, fingering, grasping, and repetitive motions. This position requires sitting for long periods of time; walking and/or standing is only required occasionally. This position requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force and/or an insignificant amount in order to lift, carry, pull, or move objects. This position requires the ability to travel, with possible overnight stays for YVFWC meetings and visits to other YVFWC locations. Pay:
$170,000.00 - $237,500.00 per year
