Position Summary The Controller leads the organization's accounting operations and is accountable for accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting. This role oversees core accounting processes, internal controls, audits, cash management, customer records, and the development and cross-training of the accounting team. Working closely with leadership and the board of directors, the Controller delivers reliable financial information that supports sound business decisions. Key Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting activities, including the general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, fixed assets, cash management, reconciliations, and related recordkeeping.
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for leadership and the board of directors.
• Lead month-end and year-end close, including journal entries, account reconciliations, customer statements, and variance analysis.
• Ensure accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other accounting procedures are completed accurately and on time.
• Develop, document, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and effective internal controls.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax requirements, contractual obligations, loan requirements, and company policies.
• Coordinate the annual financial audit and serve as the primary contact for external auditors.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and financial analysis.
• Oversee banking activities, cash management, loan compliance, and financial risk controls.
• Manage tax filings and reporting in coordination with external tax advisors.
• Hire, develop, and lead a high-performing administrative and customer service team; cross-train staff to support continuity during vacations, illness, leave, or other disruptions.
• Establish administrative policies and procedures that safeguard confidential customer, employee, and company information.
• Partner with other departments and perform additional duties as assigned by the CEO. Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Five to seven years or more of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and financial reporting requirements.
• Demonstrated experience with financial statement preparation, month-end close, accounts payable, accounts receivable, deposit balancing, reconciliations, audits, and internal controls.
• Proficiency with accounting software, enterprise resource planning systems, Microsoft Excel, and related business tools. Leadership and Professional Skills

• Experience in retail accounting.
