Intern Program Overview Builders' Internship Program provides students with meaningful, hands-on experience and an opportunity to gain a comprehensive understanding of the insurance industry. Interns work on real business projects, contribute to organizational goals, and gain exposure to various areas of the company. Throughout the program, interns have opportunities to connect with leaders and professionals across the organization, build a strong professional network, and learn from experienced colleagues. The program also includes professional development sessions, networking events, learning opportunities, and collaborative projects designed to enhance skills, broaden industry knowledge, and prepare interns for future career success. Position Summary The Underwriting Intern will gain hands-on experience in commercial property and liability insurance while developing a foundation in the fundamentals of the Underwriting function. The role provides an opportunity to learn how Underwriters evaluate business operations, assess potential hazards and exposures, and apply sound judgment to develop accurate, competitive, and appropriate premiums. Through structured training and on-the-job experience, the Intern will apply Underwriting guidelines and predictive analytics tools to evaluate and service policies, respond to customer inquiries, process endorsements, and support effective policy management. The Intern will also have opportunities to build and strengthen professional relationships with policyholders and agent partners while developing skills that support a successful career in insurance.
