Job Description
Job Description The Role The Underwriting Assistant role for Portfolio Solutions primarily supports the on-boarding and regular processing of written and signed bordereaux associated with programs written via sub-delegation. In these scenarios, Canopius Managing Agents delegates authority to sub-coverholders and delegated claims administrators (Third Party Administrators, e.g. TPA's) through its US-based service company, Canopius Underwriting Agency, Inc. The role will focus on working closely with sub-coverholders and delegated claims administrators to ensure that bordereaux are provided on a timely basis and to ensure that funds are received consistent with the total amount of the signed bordereaux. Responsibilities New program on-boarding Set up binder in Subscribe (Canopius Syndicate 4444 accounting system). Send booking instructions to WNS (outsource partner). Review WNS Subscribe entries (in Subscribe). Other support as needed during the due diligence and on-boarding process. Risk/Written bordereaux Receive risk/written bordereaux from MGA(s) and send to the Operations team in the UK responsible for processing in Intrali (bordereau management system utilized for S4444 coverholder/sub-coverholder programs). Work with the MGA to resolve any data/reporting issues surfaced during ingestion. Signed bordereaux Ensure timely receipt of signed bordereaux from MGA(s). Ensure timely receipt of funds from the MGA(s). Process paid bordereaux values into Subscribe (sub-totalled by risk code, territory, settlement currency, etc.). Send the signed bordereaux to CBS (Canopius internal broker responsible for processing to Lloyd's via Xchanging). Work with US Finance to remit the funds to CBS. Skills and Qualifications Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work under pressure as part of a small team and self-motivated to work independently. Strong critical thinking skills. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong attention to detail and focus on quality/accuracy. Ability to work and learn with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment. Effective problem-solving skills. Proficiency with Microsoft O365 tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint and Teams. Prior insurance exposure required.
