Job Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Underwriting Assistant to join our property and casaulty department in growing fast Asian market in Great Neck New York . In this role, you will support the underwriting process by collecting and analyzing data, assisting with risk assessments, and ensuring compliance. Your energetic approach and strong analytical skills will contribute to efficient insurance processing, accurate quotes, and effective client communication. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop expertise in personal and commercial insurance within a fast-paced environment committed to excellence. Chinese Mandarin or Cantonese oral and writing skills are required. (Must call, text, wechat or email in Chinese) Responsibilities Collect, organize, and analyze documents, submit applications and reports to support underwriting decisions. Assist in evaluating through detailed risk analysis and interpretation. Support processes by preparing documentation, verifying compliance with underwriter guideline, and ensuring accuracy in data entry. Conduct quantitative research and data collection to inform underwriting assessments. Collaborate with team members on portfolio management tasks, including risk assessment updates and fraud prevention strategies. Utilize Microsoft Office tools, and report writing to support underwriting activities. Communicate effectively with clients to gather necessary information while maintaining professional client relations throughout the process. Experience Proven experience in financial analysis, accounting, or finance-related roles with a focus on risk assessment. Strong knowledge of personal and commercial insurance concepts. Proficiency in financial software applications and advanced Excel functions for data analysis and modeling. Familiarity with industry standards for fraud detection and compliance requirements. Excellent communication skills for client interaction and internal collaboration within a fast-paced environment. Prior experience in banking or financial services involving underwriting is highly desirable.
