Underwriting Assistant Tokio Marine HCC - Surety Group, a member of the Tokio Marine Group of Companies, has an impactful opportunity for an Underwriting Assistant at our Los Angeles, CA home office. We are looking for a motivated individual who will provide administrative support for our team of executives and underwriters. The Los Angeles home office is comprised of a collaborative team of professionals. Key Responsibilities The primary responsibilities of the Underwriting Assistant are providing administrative assistance to executive and staff underwriters and assisting with projects for the Surety Group home office. Performance Objectives and Timeline During the first 30 days: Learn the basics of our company and surety bonds - what we do, our systems and processes, the members of our team. During the first 3 months: Assist with tasks and projects. During the first 6 months and beyond: Proactively and adeptly work with various documents, systems, records, information. Be the reliable, go-to resource for executives and underwriters. Communicate with internal and external parties with emails, memos, calls. Generate indemnity agreements, pull reports from various sources, assist with agency relationships. During the first year and beyond: Anticipate underwriting needs. Initiate proactive ways to support executives and underwriters so they can grow the business. Experience & Education Qualifications Two or more years of relevant and progressive experience Success characteristics: Customer service mindset - eager to help, regardless of the task Quick to understand technical information Initiative to anticipate the needs of others Commitment to help others succeed Teamwork, planning and organizational skills
