Position Overview:
As an Underwriting Assistant/Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our underwriting team by analyzing data, managing documentation, and ensuring the efficiency of our underwriting processes. This entry-level position is ideal for detail-oriented individuals interested in learning about risk assessment, insurance, and the underwriting profession.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist underwriters with reviewing, analyzing, and processing insurance applications and related documentation. Perform data entry and maintain accurate records in underwriting systems. Analyze client and risk data to provide initial insights for decision-making. Communicate with brokers, agents, and internal teams to gather missing information or clarify details. Monitor compliance with company policies and industry regulations. Prepare reports and summaries for underwriting decisions. Identify opportunities for process improvement and support initiatives to enhance efficiency.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business, finance, risk management, or a related field (preferred but not required). Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and identify trends. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment. Eagerness to learn and grow within the underwriting profession.
