Financial Analyst will be responsible for analyzing financial data, managing budgets, and forecasting trends, labor productivity to support decision-making, improve the financial performance, efficiency, and strategic financial planning of the SCH Hospital and Clinics.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting and Analysis :
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, variance analyses, and profitability studies.Budgeting and Forecasting :
Assist in the development of annual operating budgets, departmental forecasts, and long-term financial plans.Cost Management and Efficiency :
Analyze expenses, identify cost-reduction opportunities, and evaluate the financial impact of operational changes. Hospital Medicare/Medicaid Cost reporting knowledge an added advantageStrategic Planning and Modeling :
Create financial models for growth initiatives, service line expansions.Benchmarking and Data Mining :
Utilize tools like SQL, Excel, and BI software (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to extract data from financial systems (e.g., EPIC, Lawson) to compare performance against industry standards.Compliance :
Ensure financial records adhere to regulatory standards and policies, including Medicare/Medicaid requirements. Other duties as assignedEducation, Experience and Other Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's/Master's degree in finance,Accounting, or Economics Technical Skills:
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, modeling), SQL for data querying, and experience with BI tools.Experience:
5 years' progressive experience in healthcare financial Accounting or hospital/Healthcare operations, in a similar role. Extensive Knowledge in Healthcare reimbursement, developing trends and policy changes, preferably in Hospital setting.Analytical Abilities:
Strong ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and translate financial concepts for non-financial stakeholders. Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Strong analytic skills and detail orientated. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
