Qualifications:
Valid or ability to obtain American Red Cross / CPR/ First Aid / AED preferred. Knowledge of and experience with Silver Sneakers Class Formats. Skill in oral and written communication skills. Ability to coordinate, organize and teach fitness and swim classes. 18 years and older must obtain criminal background check as required by the State of Michigan. Skill modifications for various fitness levels.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Regular and reliable in person attendance is an essential job function Excellent communication and organizational skills High energy Strong work ethic. Leads fitness and/or related classes following Anchor Bay Aquatic Center guidelines. Watches and corrects participants when exercising in an unsafe manner. Takes attendance of class each time it is held. Sets up and takes down equipment. Be prepared and proficient in all Emergency Action Plans (community and school use)
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts; ability to compute percentages and to interpret graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Personal computer skills necessary. Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory in specific field. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the school community. Ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.

In case of emergency must be able to traverse about school campus and lead students to safety. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally push or lift up to 50 lbs. such as boxes of books and AV/laptop carts. The employee is directly responsible for safety, well-being, or work output of other people. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as to read handwritten or typed material, and the ability to adjust focus. The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff.
