JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for operating the centrifugal to ensure sugar meets established quality standards. Work involves supporting safe, efficient production by maintaining proper process conditions, monitoring equipment performance, and coordinating with other processing areas. At the conclusion of the crop season, at management's discretion, the individual selected can expect to return to their prior repair season position (if any) or be assigned to a repair season position as needed. Work is performed under limited supervision with moderate latitude in the use of initiative and independent judgment. Position relies on experience to determine the best approach by using and interpreting policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Operates sugar centrifugal A, B, C stations, conveyors, and associated equipment Monitors sugar quality Performs routine inspections to identify equipment wear, buildup, leaks, or mechanical issues; advises the leader and/or supervisor of any abnormalities Observes the flow of materials through elevators and conveyors to prevent jamming or spillage Cleans equipment with steam, hot water, and a hose Assists with start-up, shutdown, cleaning, and changeover procedures Maintains accurate production logs, quality records, and shift reports Maintains a clean and safe work area Works collaboratively with other team members and supervisors to achieve project goals Ensures the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times Follows organizational safety guidelines and protocols, performs job functions in a safe manner, and reports all safety hazards per established policies and procedures

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or GED and three (3) years of experience in sugar mill operations, centrifugal systems or related industrial processing; OR a combination of experience, certification, education and training that demonstrates expertise in the related areas.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Technical or vocational training in equipment operation, industrial processes or a related field Bilingual - English and Spanish

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of, or ability to learn, sugar drying processes and procedures Knowledge of, or ability to learn, safety protocols and compliance standards related to sugar fabrication Skill in using mathematics required for the work Ability to read gauges, interpret process data, and adjust equipment settings Ability to follow instructions from supervisors and senior workers Ability to follow safety guidelines and protocols and perform job functions in a safe manner Ability to work rotating shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, while maintaining consistent performance and adherence to operational standards. REQUIREMENTS

Depending on functional area of assignment, tasks involve the periodic performance of moderately physically demanding work, usually involving lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (up to 50 pounds). Tasks that require moving objects of significant weight require the assistance of another person and/or use of proper techniques and moving equipment. Tasks may involve some climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
