Job Description

Job Description Help for Job Description. Opens a new window. Summary This is a truck job, not an airport job. Expect to spend up to about half your week on the road locally and regionally in a company vehicle — visiting customers, walking jobs and checking material. Overnight travel is occasional rather than routine. Commission is paid on cash collected and advanced on a weekly cycle rather than held to month end. Full structure is shared during the interview process. Health insurance, 401(k) with company match, and paid time off. Company vehicle for territory work. Cell phone and laptop provided.
Requirements :
What you bring Three or more years selling green goods wholesale nursery, landscape supply or a closely related trade. Industry selling experience is the requirement we will not flex on. Real plant knowledge. You can identify material on sight, judge quality and caliper in the field, and talk credibly about grade and specification. Working command of the Florida plant palette, and the judgement to know what will perform where. Comfort with truckload logistics and freight economics. Proficient with a CRM and a price list. This role has a price floor and you will be expected to work within it. Valid Florida driver's license and a clean driving record. Employer conducts motor vehicle driving history checks. Nice to have Conversational Spanish. Experience with NetSuite or a comparable ERP. Existing relationships with municipal or commercial specifiers.
Job Responsibilities:
Sell finished nursery stock to landscape contractors, re-wholesalers, growers and municipal buyers across Florida and the surrounding Southeast. Build the customer base. You will take an open territory and a handful of active conversations and turn them into a book of repeat accounts. Own the weekly availability list. You will maintain and publish what is finished and sellable priced, with photos and specifications working from our inventory system alongside the farm team. This is the most important recurring deliverable in the job. Drive the Sylvester palm program. Our Ocala farm carries a substantial Sylvester inventory that has been sold passively for years. Putting real volume through it is one of the clearest wins available to you. Quote and coordinate logistics. Digging and loading schedules, freight quoting and delivery coordination, so what you sell arrives when you said it would. Walk the fields. Know the material by sight, grade it honestly and represent it accurately. Customers who get what they were promised buy again. Work trade shows and grower events, with disciplined follow-up afterwards. Keep the pipeline in the system. Quotes, orders and account activity recorded in NetSuite, so the business can be forecast rather than guessed at.
Work Schedule :
To be discussed with employer
