•This class coordinates, supervises, and evaluates programs and activities in a County department.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
May supervise staff by prioritizing and assigning work, conducting performance evaluations, ensuring staff are trained and follow policies and procedures, maintaining a healthy and safe working environment, and making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations Coordinates and maintains supervisor's calendar and schedules; coordinates meetings; may attend meetings to take minutes; may transcribe and disseminate meeting minutes Confers with management to inform them of key issues and developments and obtain pertinent information Serves as a liaison with other internal departments, citizens, and/or external agencies in order to exchange information, provide advice, solve problems, and maintain cooperative and efficient relations Reviews communications sent to Director in assigned area of responsibility and drafts appropriate responses to a variety of inquiries Prepares, organizes, and coordinates recommendations, amendments, ordinances, resolutions, fee schedules, and/or other supporting data to be presented at public hearings and/or meetings Prepares, reviews, processes, analyzes, and maintains a variety of information, data, forms, applications, agreements, and/or reports related to departmental operations and/or personnel Conducts research and assists in preparing a variety of technical, statistical, and narrative reports, correspondence, and/or other written documentation Coordinates travel arrangements by making reservations, confirming itineraries, and preparing and submitting payment travel vouchers for reimbursement Performs other duties as assigned or required
