Job Title Group Manager - Custom Fab FLSA Class Exempt Department Custom Fab Type Full-Time Reports To Manufacturing Director EEO-1
Class First/Mid-Level Officials and Managers Starting Pay:
$52,000 annually Salary is based on education, experience, and skill.
Ideal Candidate:
Proven experience elevating a team of skilled workers. Strong interpersonal skills, and experience coaching based on employees' needs. Background in high-mix, low-volume fabrication. Solution oriented, with ability to triage. Flexible schedule. Summary/Objective The Group Manager for the Custom Fab department is responsible for coordinating and managing the work of employees and developing an operational plan to meet Sales demands. The Group Manager for Custom Fab develops operational schedules to meet customer service objectives and acts as communication liaison to ensure all groups have the information needed to provide superior customer service. Essential Functions Direct and coordinate the activities of the shop resources and personnel. Work with assigned Eng resources to facilitate resource scheduling/tracking, design review, project management, and team huddles. Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration to meet customer expectations for quality and delivery. Participate in Sales meetings, Business Development meetings, and Customer Interactions. Selects, develops, and supervises staff. Accomplishes employee results by coaching, counseling, training, and disciplining employees. Assist in the determination and implementation of corrective actions where necessary. Develop and improve work instructions to achieve continual improvement. Maintain a presence in the work area to be available to employees. Other duties as assigned. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas, which may require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and hearing protection. Supervisory Responsibilities This position supervises staff and is responsible for communicating and enforcing organizational standards, rules and policies. Educations and Experience Required:
High School Diploma, GED, Technical School Graduate, or Industry recognized certification is required. A minimum of 8 years of experience in a manufacturing setting is required. Knowledge of CNC machining, Manual machining, TIG welding, and finishing processes. Knowledge of standard vacuum vessel manufacturing practices.
Preferred:
Knowledge of CAM systems (FeatureCAM). Skills and Competencies A knowledge of technical drawings, including GD&T, is required. Must understand shop math/algebra/trigonometry. Attention to Detail. Good Judgement Conceptual skills. Process Improvement. Communication. Leadership.
