Overview
POSITION SUMMARY
The Fleet and Equipment Technician is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial equipment and fleet vehicles with a focus on mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems. This position ensures equipment reliability and safety by diagnosing failures, replacing worn or damaged components, and completing repairs in accordance with OEM standards and company safety procedures. Responsibilities include conducting electrical diagnostics on relays, contactors, switches, control boards, and modules; repairing fluid system leaks; maintaining battery systems for electric fleet equipment; managing parts inventory; and supporting equipment transportation needs. The role also requires clear communication regarding equipment status and repair impacts, adherence to detailed repair procedures, and proper environmental handling and disposal of oils, coolants, and other maintenance materials.Fleet and Equipment Technician Salary Range:
$25.90- $31.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Functions Statement(s) Ensures fluids used are correct for each application and manufacturer specification, cleans and lubricates equipment. Diagnoses fluid leaks in oil, cooling, and hydraulic systems. Performs routine electrical and battery maintenance on electric fleet equipment, including cleanup, cable inspections, and water level checks. Follows complex repair and diagnostic procedures and instructions. Diagnoses and performs complex electrical repairs; tests relays, contactors, microswitches, limit switches, control boards, and modules. Repairs and replaces worn or damaged components, including hoses, wiring, and belts on equipment such as trucks and forklifts, while maintaining OEM standards for safety and cleanliness. Disposes of waste oils and coolants responsibly and in accordance with regulations. Transports equipment as needed to support operational requirements. Checks and records vehicle odometer readings; inspects oil levels, tire pressures, glass condition, and tops off fluids between scheduled services. Assesses projects and communicates potential issues or risks to management. Maintains parts inventory and assists with ordering stock as needed. Maintains records and communicates repair status, schedules downtime, and provides production updates. Performs preventive maintenance on company vehicles, including trucks, vans, forklifts, and golf carts.COMPETENCIES

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience:
High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED), Two to five years of experience in fleet maintenance, or automotive mechanic with proven ability to diagnose electrical components such as charging systems, potentiometers, micro switches. Experience with hydraulic systems and pressurized hoses, automotive break systems, cooling system, 12/24V DC charging, belts driven mechanisms. Experience mig welding required. (tig welding is a plus) Mechanical aptitude is a must.Certificates & Licenses:
Ability to qualify for valid driver's license, clean driving record for company coverage. Ability to qualify for passport. Must have or obtain forklift, manlift certifications.Computer Skills:
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and computer literate with the ability to learn new software applicationsOther Requirements:
Ability to ride in a manlift rising up to 20 feet in height and needs to climb ladders to a height as much as 10 feet.Language:
