Job Description

We're looking for an experienced, organized, and team-driven Food Operations Manager to lead all food service operations across our venues at Port Farms Special Events, LLC and Poverty Knob Farmhouse Ales. This is a full-time role in a fast-paced, seasonal agritainment environment where no two days look exactly alike. It's a great fit for someone who takes pride in food quality, knows how to get the most out of a kitchen team, and can balance the big picture — costs, inventory, and scheduling — without losing sight of the details that make a great guest experience. What You'll Do Inventory Management Manage, order, purchase, receive, and store all food and paper goods efficiently, accurately, and cost-effectively. Manage and track all food-related inventory through MarketMan. Maintain proper par levels and inventory controls to minimize waste and optimize food cost. Maintain organization and inventory for all food-related buildings. Stock inventory in preparation for events both indoors and outdoors. Food Quality & Standards Increase sales through consistent food quality, speed of service, and accurate food preparation. Supervise and manage all food location operations, optimizing profitability through effective control of food costs, production, labor, and sales performance. Review weekly historical data and collaborate with food locations to establish daily cooking schedules and production quantities. Inspect local suppliers and ensure correct products and quality standards are consistently met. Identify operational opportunities to increase sales and control costs, including developing and implementing new items on the menu. Ensure food quality through high standards of cleanliness, organization, sanitation, and proper storage of food products. Prepare menu items to ensure consistent quality and execution Oversee daily opening and closing duties for all food-related operations. Catering & Events Coordinate with the Events Coordinator to provide catering services for events, as necessary.
Events include:
weddings, showers, corporate events, reunions, and graduation parties. Supervisory Responsibilities Staff, train, and develop hourly food service team members through ongoing coaching and feedback. Coordinate and supervise the main farm kitchen staff. Review schedules and ensure all food locations are properly staffed for every shift. What We're Looking For Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Strong leadership and team development skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience with Microsoft Suite. Knowledge of recipe development. Experience managing food service operations, labor, and inventory. Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and storage best practices. Ability to analyze sales data and adjust production accordingly. Ability to work hands-on in a kitchen environment. Ability to manage multiple locations, priorities, and seasonal timelines. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks. Ability to lift up to 50lbs. Schedule Expectations Seasonal, fast-paced agritainment and food service environment. Shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
