Job Title:
Licensed Electrical Foreman Job Description The Licensed Electrical Foreman leads commercial and industrial electrical crews on prevailing wage projects across the state, overseeing all phases of new construction and renovation work. This role combines hands-on electrical installation with crew leadership, ensuring projects meet safety standards, code requirements, and quality expectations while staying on schedule and maintaining accurate documentation. Responsibilities Lead and supervise crews of approximately 1-6 up to 10-12 electricians and apprentices on commercial, industrial, and municipal projects. Work hands-on alongside the crew to install, rough in, and finish electrical systems in new builds and renovation projects. Interpret and read blueprints and electrical schematics to plan and execute installations according to project specifications and electrical codes. Install, run, and bend conduit, including low-voltage and various conduit types, ensuring clean, code-compliant routing. Pull and terminate electrical wiring, including Romex cable, panel wiring, switchgear, and lighting circuits, as well as 3-phase power systems. Perform electrical troubleshooting and repairs on installed systems to resolve issues efficiently and safely. Coordinate and complete installation of electrical equipment and systems in environments such as commercial sites, rail-related facilities, airports, and town halls. Ensure all work adheres to safety regulations and company safety training, including proper use of PPE and tools. Maintain accurate paperwork and project documentation, including daily reports, time records, and material tracking as required. Drive to various project sites across the state, arriving prepared with required tools, PPE, and documentation. Collaborate with project stakeholders and team members to keep projects on schedule and aligned with quality standards. Support and mentor apprentices and less-experienced electricians, promoting safe work habits and strong technical skills. Essential Skills Active E1 or E2 electrical license. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 safety certification. Proven experience as a commercial or new-build electrician, including rough-in and finish work. Demonstrated experience across municipal, industrial, and commercial electrical projects. Strong blueprint and schematic reading skills for planning and executing installations. Proficiency with conduit installation, including running and bending conduit and low-voltage conduit work. Hands-on experience with pulling wire, panel wiring, electrical wiring, switchgear, lighting, and 3-phase systems. Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical systems in the field. Reliable transportation and willingness to drive to various job sites across the state. Ability to bring and properly use personal PPE and electrical hand and power tools. Solid safety awareness and completion of relevant safety training. Ability to maintain accurate paperwork and project documentation. Proven leadership skills as a hands-on foreman, capable of leading crews of electricians and apprentices. Journeyman-level electrical experience or equivalent demonstrated competency. Additional Skills & Qualifications Alarm system installation or troubleshooting experience. Experience working in data centers or similar critical environments. Experience on prevailing wage projects. Comfort working in varied commercial, industrial, and municipal environments such as rail-related facilities, airports, and town halls. Why Work Here? Work Environment Work takes place primarily on commercial, industrial, and municipal project sites, including commercial buildings, rail-related facilities (not on active tracks), airports, and town halls. The role involves traveling to various locations across the state, working on active construction sites with typical noise, equipment, and outdoor or semi-outdoor conditions. You will regularly use standard electrical tools, PPE, and equipment for conduit bending, wiring, troubleshooting, and installations. Hours follow standard construction schedules, with the need to be on-site, prepared with your own tools and PPE, and ready to work hands-on as part of a field crew. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New London, CT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $82.72 - $82.72/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
