Description Innovative Aerosystems (IA) seeks an engaged, curious, and skilled FPGA Development Engineer to join our engineering team and support the development of safety-critical avionics hardware. Our offerings include Flat Panel Display Systems, Flight Information Computers, Autothrottles, Engine and Fuel Instrumentation, ThrustSense® Autothrottle, and RVSM air data solutions. What You Will Do Develop FPGA-based hardware solutions for safety-critical avionics products in accordance with DO-254 design assurance guidelines Design, implement, and verify FPGA logic primarily targeting Xilinx FPGAs using Vivado Develop RTL using Verilog and/or VHDL Perform FPGA verification, including simulation, synthesis, timing analysis, and hardware validation Collaborate in circuit board bring-up, lab testing, and system-level debugging Provide hardware design support throughout the full product lifecycle, from concept and requirements development through certification and production Work closely with Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, PCB Design, and Manufacturing teams Contribute to internal design documentation, requirements traceability, and certification artifacts Requirements What You Bring To This Role Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience 2+ years of FPGA or ASIC development experience, preferably in regulated or safety-critical environments Strong proficiency in Verilog or VHDL Solid understanding of FPGA development workflows including RTL design, verification, logic synthesis, place and route, timing closure, and hardware validation Hands-on experience with Xilinx FPGA architectures and the Vivado tool suite Experience with RTL simulation tools (ModelSim, Questa or similar) Knowledge of, or exposure to DO-254 processes, including requirements-based design, verification, and configuration management Strong analytical and board-level debugging skills Familiarity with common digital interfaces such as I2C, SPI, JTAG, Ethernet, PCIe, and video interfaces is a plus Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams
