Job Description
We are partnering with a client seeking an Associate Technical Designer to support Women's, Men's, and Accessories categories within a fast-paced apparel environment.
Position Overview:
The Associate Technical Designer will play a key role in seasonal fit and construction development, supporting product from concept through production. This role requires strong technical expertise in garment construction, fit, grading, technical packages, and vendor communication, while partnering cross-functionally with design, merchandising, sourcing, and production teams.Key Responsibilities:
- Develop technical specifications, construction details, and grading for production
- Create and maintain technical packages, specs, and fit documentation in Gerber / Full Circle
- Attend and contribute to fittings, providing detailed fit comments and technical corrections
- Communicate directly with vendors and factories regarding approvals, fit updates, and construction revisions
- Track development milestones, sample status, and production timelines
- Review garments for fit, construction, and quality compliance
- Partner closely with design and merchandising teams to maintain product vision through execution
- Troubleshoot technical, production, and fit issues while recommending solutions
- Maintain organized technical files, fit samples, and development documentation
Qualifications:
- 3-5+ years of Technical Design experience within apparel
- Strong knowledge of garment construction, grading, patternmaking, draping, and fit
- Experience across multiple product categories preferred
- Proficiency in Gerber, Full Circle, Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Office, and SharePoint
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Product Development, Merchandising, or related field preferred This is a great opportunity for a hands-on Technical Designer looking to join a collaborative team with potential for long-term growth.
