Join Our Team as a Front Desk Agent at the New Holiday Inn Express in Peotone! Are you a customer service superstar with a passion for creating exceptional guest experiences? The Holiday Inn Express in Peotone is looking for a Front Desk Agent to be the welcoming face of our new hotel! As a pivotal member of our team, you'll be instrumental in shaping our guests' stays from the moment they arrive. You'll master the art of customer service and communication, ensuring every guest feels right at home.
What You'll Do:
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include: Warmly welcoming all guests and ensuring a seamless check-in and check-out experience. Handling confidential guest information with the utmost integrity. Answering and routing calls, emails, and in-person inquiries professionally. Managing cash drawer contents and transactions accurately during your shift. Maintaining and updating accurate records using the hotel's systems (e.g., PMS system). Promptly and effectively handling guest requests and complaints with professionalism and tact, finding solutions that align with hotel policies. Ensuring the common areas, entryway, and lobby are clean, neat, and orderly . Engaging with guests in a courteous and helpful manner, addressing inquiries and ensuring their needs are met. Seeking feedback from guests to identify areas for improvement and relaying compliments to the team. Managing reservations, cancellations, and room assignments to optimize occupancy. Ensuring reservation and billing accuracy . Maintaining up-to-date records on hotel systems (e.g., out-of-order rooms, guest requests). Managing multiple tasks simultaneously , including guest interactions, phone calls, and administrative duties. Maintaining an organized and tidy front desk area . Demonstrating effective communication with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments to ensure seamless operations. Collaborating with team members to find solutions and prevent recurring problems. Escalating complex issues to the appropriate supervisor or department when necessary.

A proven ability to deliver outstanding service, maintaining a friendly and warm demeanor at all times to enhance guest satisfaction.
Communication:
Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey information and ideas, and address guest inquiries and issues promptly.
Problem-Solving:
The ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately to resolve guest concerns.
Multitasking Ability:
Capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently, including handling reservations, check-ins, and check-outs.
Financial Skills:
Comfort working with and understanding financial information, performing basic arithmetic functions as needed.
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent is required; experience in a hotel or related field is preferred. Familiarity with hotel management software and Microsoft Office suite.
Qualifications:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs. Must be available to work evening and midnight shifts. Must be available to work on weekends and holidays.
Physical Demands:
To successfully perform the essential functions of this job, you'll regularly be required to: Stand for an entire shift or for an extended amount of time. Use hands to feel or handle and reach with hands and arms. Frequently walk, bend, sit, climb, or balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
