Job Description

Summary:
Responsible for greeting patients, verifying their demographic and insurance information, collecting payments, and posting charges by performing the following duties. Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Greets patients.
  • Verifies insurance and scans insurance cards with a photo identification.
  • Verifies patient demographic information.
  • Answers the phone in a pleasant manner.
  • Schedules appointments.
  • Verifies patient appointments for the next day.
  • Makes copies, faxes documents, and shreds documents within company protocals.
  • Takes accurate messages and conveys them to the doctor/medical assistance.
  • Opens the building at the designated time each day, ensures the readiness of the reception area, and ensures that the front desk activities are fully operational at the start of the business day.
  • Participates in staff and educational meetings.
  • Advises supervisor of items that need to be ordered for the front desk.
  • Manages incoming hospital consults/calls back paged to the doctors.
  • Collects and posts charges and payments according to protocols, prepares and balances daily financial registers, and submits all forms to their supervisor.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, internet software, and eClinical Works.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates and Licenses:
Valid driver's license
