Job Description

Job Summary:
The Front of House Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of our restaurant, ensuring that guests receive exceptional service while maintaining a positive and efficient work environment. This position requires strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and the ability to manage both staff and customer interactions effectively. The ideal candidate will have experience in food service management, possess excellent communication skills, and be adept at multitasking in a fast-paced setting. Day to day tasks will include but may not be limited to:
  • Manage a team of front of house staff including scheduling, training, and general supervision to ensure high standards of service and customer satisfaction.
  • Help order liquor, wine, and beer while keeping an up-to-date inventory of alcohol served with the Bar Manager.
  • Utilize POS system (Toast) for order processing and sales tracking.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper food handling techniques with enforcement and monitoring.
  • Monitor and see that all opening/ closing duties of the front of house staff are completed correctly and efficiently; seeing that the restaurant holds its cleanliness and maintenance standards.
  • Responsible for reviewing/ balancing employee daily drop sheet and end of shift sheets for accuracy and completeness
  • Oversee shift check outs
  • Provide excellent customer service to guests and leadership skills to employees
  • Handle guest complaints in a professional and patient manner to enhance the customer experience.
  • Responsible for quality assurance in guest experience.
  • Be available / willing to assist front of house staff with running food / hosting/ bussing / etc. as needed
  • Assist in reviewing resumes, applications and performing interviews for front of house applicants as requested by the General Manager/Owners. Along with helping to onboard new FOH staff and build/maintain training schedules.
  • Manage reception and reservations of 6 or more.
  • Reply to messages on voicemail or email.
  • Collaborate with kitchen management to ensure seamless communication between front of house and back of house operations.
  • Foster a positive team environment through effective leadership and development initiatives. Monthly Tasks
  • Review opening and closing lists for FOH staff.
  • Review Josephine's policies and update as needed.
  • Review liquor costs and pricing list.
  • Update menus (liquor and restaurant) with any changes made by upper management and / or owners Qualifications
  • Proven experience in restaurant management or a similar role within the food industry.
  • Strong background in customer service, with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with food preparation techniques, cooking processes, and kitchen management.
  • Experience with inventory control systems and cash handling procedures.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations is essential.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team through training & development programs.
  • Previous experience in fine dining or casual dining settings is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills under pressure.
  • A passion for the hospitality industry with a commitment to providing exceptional guest experiences. Requirements

  • Lift 50 pounds or more
  • Working 5 days per week, including weekends
  • Efficiently work in a fast-paced environment
