Job Description

Grant's Restaurant & Bar in Stowe, VT is seeking an experienced and motivated Front of House Shift Manager to help lead our service team and oversee nightly restaurant operations. This position is ideal for someone with strong hospitality experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys leading by example on the floor. Located inside The Stowe Village Inn, Grant's offers elevated fusion cuisine, craft cocktails, and warm hospitality in a lively upscale casual atmosphere. We are looking for a dependable leader who can provide exceptional guest experiences while supporting and motivating the front-of-house team. Position Details Full-time position of 40 hours per week Ideal role covers Wednesday to Sunday from 2:00 PM to close Evening and weekend availability required Primarily dinner service shifts, special events as required/scheduled Competitive pay based on experience Growth opportunities within management Responsibilities Oversee nightly front-of-house operations during service Table touch on every table during guests meals to ensure their food, drinks, and experience is exceptional Lead and support servers, bartenders, hosts, and support staff Ensure exceptional guest service and resolve guest concerns professionally Assist with opening and closing procedures Manage/Pace floor flow, seating, waitlists, and table turns Maintain high standards of service, cleanliness, and professionalism Assist with staff training, coaching, and performance management Support communication between front and back of house teams Develop an efficient staff schedule to ensure appropriate coverage without over-staffing Assist with responding to online guest reviews Prepare and print daily special menus utilizing our internal pre-designed templates Handle phone calls, including reservation changes, triaging calls for events, menu questions, etc. Handle cash management, POS transactions, and shift reconciliation Monitor staff performance and maintain a positive team environment Step in to assist service staff as needed during busy periods Ensure compliance with health, safety, and alcohol service regulations Required Skills & Qualifications Previous restaurant supervisory or management experience preferred Strong leadership and communication skills Ability to remain calm and organized under pressure Excellent customer service and conflict resolution abilities Experience working in high-volume restaurant environments Knowledge of Toast POS systems and restaurant operations Knowledge of food and wine pairings preferred Ability to multitask and prioritize during busy service Reliable attendance and strong work ethic Professional appearance and positive attitude Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is hands-on, energetic, and hospitality-driven.
