Job Description

Front Office Manager & Assistant to the Head of School Cincinnati, Ohio School Overview Central Montessori Academy is an independent AMS Montessori school serving students from Toddler through 6th Grade. Rooted in Montessori principles, the school is dedicated to nurturing independence, curiosity, academic excellence, and social-emotional growth within a respectful and supportive community. Position Summary We seek a highly organized, warm, and adaptable Front Office Manager & Assistant to the Head of School to serve as the central hub of the school's daily operations. This full-time, year-round position is often the first point of contact for families, students, staff, and visitors and plays a critical role in maintaining effective communication, operational efficiency, and administrative support for the Head of School. The successful candidate will demonstrate professionalism, discretion, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic school environment. Experience or interest in technology support and/or student health services is welcomed. Primary Responsibilities Front Office & Operations Serve as the primary point of contact for families, students, visitors, and staff Manage incoming calls, emails, and front desk communication Coordinate attendance, student records, and daily office operations Maintain office systems, organization, and supplies Foster a welcoming and professional school environment Administrative Support to the Head of School Manage scheduling, calendars, and correspondence Prepare materials for meetings and school communications Maintain confidential records and sensitive information with discretion Assist with special projects and school-wide initiatives Communication & Community Engagement Support timely communication with families and faculty/staff Assist with newsletters, announcements, and event coordination Support admissions and enrollment activities as needed Help strengthen relationships within the school community Technology Support (Preferred) Provide basic technology troubleshooting and support Coordinate with outside IT vendors and service providers Support school databases and communication systems Health & Safety Support (Preferred) Assist with basic student health needs and documentation Maintain medication and health records Support school health and safety procedures Qualifications Required Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of administrative or office management experience Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficiency with office software and database systems Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism Strong interpersonal and customer-service skills Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience Experience in an independent or Montessori school setting Familiarity with Montessori education Technology support experience Nursing or healthcare background (RN, LPN, or equivalent) Desired Characteristics The ideal candidate will demonstrate: A welcoming and professional presence Reliability, discretion, and strong follow-through Flexibility and a solution-oriented mindset Attention to detail and organizational excellence The ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively Candidates with strengths aligned with the following are especially encouraged to apply: Achiever Arranger Consistency Focus Responsibility Compensation & Benefits We offer: Competitive salary commensurate with experience Comprehensive benefits package Paid time off and holidays Professional development opportunities A collaborative and mission-driven work environment Application Process Interested candidates should submit the following materials: Cover letter Resume Professional references Application materials should be emailed to: Sarah Walker, Head of School swalker@centralmontessoriacademy.com Equal Opportunity Employer Central Montessori Academy is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
