Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the financial aspects of our property portfolio, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards. This position requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in accounting software, and a solid understanding of financial management principles. Responsibilities Manage accounts payable processes including but not limited to reviewing and inputting all invoices received, verifying accuracy of coding and allocation of expenses, ensuring timely payments and accurate record-keeping, perform banking related functions Lead Bi-weekly check run; Check handling Tracking all payments and expenditures, including credit card transactions, invoices and statements etc. Reconciling processed payments through verification of entries and other supporting documents to balances Perform account analysis to identify discrepancies and propose solutions Analyze General Ledger by confirming balances in all accounts Assist supervisor in executing cash transactions such internal funding, capital calls, monthly distributions, etc. Ensure accurate recording of journal entries in accounting software Utility Rebilling to Tenants Monitor Property insurance policies and submit certificates to Lenders Prepare Real Estate tax and CAM Reconciliations Assist with special projects, contributing to process improvements and best practices Assist in the preparation of annual property budgets and analyze variances Research problems under the direction of the immediate supervisor as required Communicate with property owners, property managers, vendors as necessary Ensure adherence to policies and procedures and maintain adequate internal controls Skills and Requirements 3+ years Bookkeeping experience required Yardi Voyager and Payscan experience preferred Proficient in general ledger reconciliation and account analysis. Strong knowledge of financial management practices and public accounting standards. Advanced skills in Excel for data analysis and reporting. Ability to interpret complex financial reports accurately. Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills. Strong financial acumen with the ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders. Capability to work independently while managing multiple priorities effectively.
