JOB DESCRIPTION
Somerset Academy Wellington is a K-12, tuition-free public charter school dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and academically challenging environment where students can excel academically, socially, and emotionally. We are seeking a highly organized, professional, and fully bilingual (Spanish/English) School Secretary to join our team for the SY26-27.
Position Summary:
The School Secretary will serve as the first point of contact for students, families, staff, and visitors, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment. This role requires excellent communication skills in both Spanish and English, strong organizational abilities, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and assist visitors, parents, students, and staff in a professional and courteous manner Answer and direct incoming phone calls, emails, and other correspondence in both English and Spanish Maintain accurate student records, files, and databases in compliance with school policies and regulations Assist with the coordination of school events, meetings, and parent communications Manage incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries Maintain confidentiality of student, family, and staff information at all times Perform other duties as assigned by the school administration
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred) Fully bilingual in Spanish and English (oral and written) Prior experience in a school office or similar administrative role preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Workspace Strong organizational skills with attention to detail Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a busy environment Professional demeanor and ability to maintain confidentiality
