Job Description
Maple Point Supportive living currently have one day shift (5:30a-2p) and one evening shift (10a-6:30p) cook positions available. We are looking for someone who is reliable, hard working, love the senior population, works well with a team and can follow receipes. If you fit the description, we would love to hear from you! 1. Prepares and serves nutritious and palatable meals, following menus and/or special instructions. 2. Adheres to recipes, methods, and solid sanitation principles in the preparation of food in proper quantities. 3. Completes necessary clean-up after meals including, but not limited to dishwashing and countertops sanitized, equipment cleaned and sanitized. 4. Follows posted work schedules to insure proper preparation and availability of quality food to residents. 5. Participates in the preparation of special meals. 6. Follows infection control policies. Maintains a high level of personal hygiene; wears gloves, headwear, and follows other hygienic methods. 7. Participates in the Continuous Quality Improvement program. Observes quality control measures by maintaining proper temperature of food and advising supervisory staff if food does not meet the facility's standards. 8. Washes or cleans in proper manner, cook wear, utensils, equipment, and other designated areas. 9. Recommends changes in menus to the Director. 10. Is knowledgeable of special diet types and resident likes and dislikes. 11. Is knowledgeable of and maintains proper inventory, including ordering of all supplies and storage procedures. 12. Attends in-service classes and staff meetings at the discretion of the Director. 13. Reports dietary problems and/or complaints to the Director. 14. Immediately reports unusual resident behavior to the Director or the Nurse. 15. Reports equipment breakdowns to the Director. 16. Employee is responsible for being knowledgeable of and able to perform all fire and safety, tornado, and disaster evacuation procedures. Employee shall participate in all building preparedness programs. 17. Is knowledgeable of all policies and procedures as they apply to the functioning of the Dietary Department. 18. Performs other duties as requested by the Director.
