Psychiatric Technician
Outpatient Geriatric Behavioral Health Pay:

Job Summary The position is located at Trinity Hospital Twin City in Dennison, OH , and is managed by Lake Behavioral Health. The program serves those aged 65 and older experiencing depression and anxiety associated with life changes. This position is essential for creating a safe, efficient, and positive environment for patients in the program. The Psychiatric Technician plays a crucial role in providing a range of patient care services, clerical duties, and administrative support for the patients, the Program Director, Program Therapist and Nurse Practitioners. The technician position is similar to that of a nursing aide or direct support professional. The technician is also responsible for safe and timely transportation to and from the program, and assists patients as needed, including with personal hygiene care. No certifications or degrees, other than a high school diploma, are required for this position. Job Duties and Responsibilities Assists Program Therapist in group activities, as needed. Coordinates and facilitates patient transportation when necessary and assists in planning daily schedules and routes. Drives and maintains the company vehicle, ensuring proper maintenance, repair, fueling, and cleanliness. Assists patients in and out of the vehicle, using wheelchair lifts if necessary, ensuring their safety. Takes vital signs when needed. Training will be provided. Assists with patients' nutritional or personal hygiene needs. Prepares snacks for patients upon request. Conducts facility safety checks to ensure a clean and safe environment. Communicates any concerns regarding patients to the Therapist, Nurse, and/or Program Director. Provides support in emergency situations as directed by the Program Nurse or Designee. Notifies the unit Program Nurse/Program Director immediately if a patient is ill or injured during transport and completes incident reporting if necessary. Assists the Program Director in event planning and networking with the public to spread awareness of the program. Attends and completes all required in-services and trainings. Utilizes universal precautions and adheres to the infection control policies of the host hospital. Prioritizes patient safety above all else. Maintains a professional appearance and demeanor. Actively supports the mission, philosophy, and goals of Lake Behavioral Health the host hospital. Adheres to work practices consistent with the mission of Lake Behavioral Health, medical staff bylaws, and departmental policies and procedures. Complies with all administrative, clinical, human resource, regulatory agencies, state and local regulations, and host hospital standards. Maintains the highest ethical standards in all program activities. Performs other duties as assigned by the Program Nurse/Program Director.
