POSITION SUMMARY

The Graduate Assistant Sports Information will assist the Sports Information Director (SID) with various assignments in helping promote the school s athletic programs. This position is intended to provide a learning experience for those pursuing a career in sports information communication.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Assist in the distribution of press releases and postgame articles that will be published to gospires.com. Assist with the recording of statistics via the Presto Sports software. Assist in the creation and posting of pre-game and post-game graphics and live updates to social media accounts. Develop relationships with coaching staff and athletics to execute deployment of athletic wide social media strategies. Game day assistance with photo/videography of the game. Conduct oneself in a professional and ethical manner at all times. Learn the details and responsibilities necessary to assist with event operations. Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office products and knowledge or ability to learn SIDHelp and the Adobe Suite. Demonstrate proficiency in USM Livestream Broadcasting operations and knowledge or ability to learn broadcasting software including but not limited to; NewTek TriCaster, Blueframe Production Truck, Stretch Internet WireCast. Other duties as assigned by the athletic administration/marketing staff.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor s degree required. Must meet eligibility for USM Graduate Assistantship program which includes acceptance into one (1) of the USM graduate programs. College level playing experience is preferred. Effective and positive interpersonal skills. Must be able to successfully pass required background screening as appropriate. Affinity with the overall mission of the University of Saint Mary. Work nights, weekends, and holidays as required. A passion for sports.
