POSITION SUMMARY

The Graduate Assistant Athletic Administration - Game/Events will provide a learning experience for those interested in pursuing a career in athletic administration. Under the direction of the Assistant Athletic Director - Game/Events, oversee collegiate athletic experiences and possess a strong knowledge of sports; must show a commitment to high academic standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Assist in the distribution of athletic visitors guides to opposing teams. Assist in all aspects of the USM Golf Classic. Assist with the USM Spire Club and Athletic Partnership Program for distribution of marketing materials. Game day management and assistance with on-field/court promotions. Working nights, weekends, and holidays is an essential function of this position. Conduct oneself in a professional and ethical manner at all times. Assist with university and athletic special event planning. Provide quality customer service to fans and constituents. Assist with game management protocols, procedures and setup/breakdown for all home events. Learn the details and responsibilities necessary to operate all music, scoreboard, game/play clocks, and public address duties at all athletic events. Knowledge of the NAIA and KCAC competition guidelines Assist with the supervision of student workers. Demonstrate proficiency in USM Livestream Broadcasting operations and knowledge or ability to learn broadcasting software including but not limited to; NewTek TriCaster, Blueframe Production Truck, Stretch Internet WireCast. Understand and show proficiency or ability to learn livestream broadcasting crew position responsibilities such as camera operations, graphics, instant replay, play-by-play/color broadcast announcing, etc. Other duties as assigned by the athletic administration staff.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor s Degree required. Must meet eligibility for USM Graduate Assistantship program which includes acceptance into one of the USM graduate programs. Effective and positive interpersonal skills. Must be able to successfully pass required background screening as appropriate. Affinity with the overall mission of the University of Saint Mary.
