POSITION SUMMARY

Serve as assistant eSports coach during Fall, Winter and Spring seasons, while participating in the Graduate Assistantship program at

USM. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Oversee the conduct, discipline and positive character development of student-athletes by using the guidelines and principles of the USM Mission and the NAIA Champions of Character initiative. Teach and promote the USM Mission values of community, respect, justice and excellence. Promote the team ideals of Scholarship, Leadership, and Sportsmanship. Assist in the recruitment of prospective student-athletes. Responsible for administering NAIA, KCAC and USM policies pertaining to recruitment and student-athlete eligibility. Counsel student-athletes in personal development and academic success. Assist in the facilitation and monitoring of academic study time with student-athletes. Coordinate the use of the esports facility. Assist in the planning and coordination of home tournaments. Assist in the preparation of practices and scrimmages. Assists with directing the conditioning of student athletes to achieve maximum athletic performance. Create graphics for the USM Esports social media profiles. Assist with transportation to and from meets. Complete appropriate paperwork for institution, conference, and national deadlines. Assist in fundraising efforts. Assist sport program with duties assigned by the Athletic Director and/or Head Coach. Performs additional job related duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor s Degree Preferred 2 Years of Collegiate Esports experience. Working and/or player knowledge of KCAC, NECC, ECAC, and NACE rules and regulations preferred. Our goal is to find a Graduate Assistants Coach with the desire and ability to contribute to the Esports program while maintaining an environment of learning and growth for the student athletes and the Graduate Assistant Coach themselves. Must meet eligibility for USM Graduate Assistantship program which includes acceptance into one of the USM graduate programs. Graduate Assistant Coaches receive a comprehensive benefits package, including 50% tuition remission, a meal plan (5 meals per week), and a stipend of $480 per semi-monthly pay period. Benefits are contingent upon acceptance into the graduate program and adherence to all terms outlined in the Graduate Assistantship Agreement.
