General Cleaner

We are seeking dependable and detail-oriented General Cleaners for GA Perimeter Technical College. This role is critical in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students and faculty. General Cleaners are responsible for continuous cleaning ("policing") of assigned areas during active operating hours. This position requires strong attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-traffic environment. Key Responsibilities Maintain cleanliness of assigned areas including: Restrooms (toilets, urinals, sinks, mirrors, partitions) Trash and recycling stations Perform routine cleaning tasks such as: Sweeping and spot mopping floors Spot cleaning walls and glass Vacuuming carpeted areas Removing trash and replacing liners Wiping and disinfecting high-touch surfaces Refill restroom supplies (soap, paper towels, tissue). Respond promptly to spills, service calls, and urgent cleaning needs. Maintain cleaning equipment and ensure janitorial closets remain organized. Follow college security guidelines and all safety procedures. Maintain a professional and customer-friendly presence at all times. Report maintenance concerns, supply shortages, or operational issues to supervisors. Qualifications Previous janitorial or custodial experience preferred but not required. Ability to work in a fast-paced, public-facing environment. Strong reliability and punctuality. Ability to follow detailed instructions and complete assigned routes. Comfortable interacting respectfully with students and faculty. Must be able to pass required background screening requirements. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Frequent bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. Ability to work in large public areas and restrooms with high foot traffic.

Available shifts:

8am-4pm, Monday-Friday.
