The City of Grinnell is sharing the following employment opportunity as part of its administration of a federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) supporting renovations and additions to the maternity and labor unit at UnityPoint Health - Grinnell. Edge Companies have been contracted by the City of Grinnell and UnityPoint Hospital, Grinnell, Iowa to build on to the maternity and labor unit at UnityPoint Hospital in Grinnell. This project is funded by CDBG and is subject to Section 3 provisions of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968. Full Job Posting Available Here General Laborer Job Duties Setting up Construction Barriers Maintaining Construction Barriers Cleaning the Construction area Making sure the construction area is swept and free of excess debris Unloading construction materials Staging construction materials Assisting carpenters with their work Following safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure compliance.

Job Requirements:

Must be at least 18 years old

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent, willing to look at applications without but it is preferred Physical fitness: Ability to lift heavy materials, stand, bend, and work in various weather conditions.

Technical skills:

Experience with hand tools, power tools, and machinery Safety knowledge:

Understanding ofworkplace safety regulations and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Driver's license: This position requires a valid driver's license (Notrequiredbut highly preferred), you must have reliable transportation to the job site

Teamwork:

Ability to work effectively with a crew and follow instructions from supervisors.

Problem-solving:
