Join us in shaping the future of cannabis culture in the world's greatest city—and beyond. Job Description At Gotham the retail experience is an important part of our brand. A General Manager needs to lead from the front and is responsible for the overall performance and management of the store, along with the coaching and development of the team of employees. You'll be working closely with your Team/Assistant Store Managers/Supervisors, and various departments in our head office to bring to life the total Gotham retail experience while managing the operations and performance of your store. There will be sales targets and key performance indicators to meet, but to create a great customer experience you'll also need to embrace our brand, add your individual flair, and tap into what makes your team tick. This is an ideal role for someone with experience and drive, ready to be a key decision maker in a high visibility role. Gotham's General Manager is one that can bring out the best in a team while keeping focused on the bigger picture. Expectations, Duties, and Responsibilities Takes ultimate responsibility for the management of all store operations, administration, the visual presentation of the store, and the correct implementation of our brand guidelines Actualizes financial objectives, achieving an annual budget, scheduling expenditures and analyzing variances in currency and inventory Being a brand ambassador for Gotham, creating the ultimate Gotham experience for our customers Service and selling orientated, understands sales targets and can implement strategies to achieve the set targets and key performance indicators Sets an example and leads the team to ensure that they are proactive in offering the best service while sharing their passion for retailing and love for our brand Contributes to team effort with a hands-on approach, achieving desired results across all aspects of business Sets the tone within the team, nurturing morale and creating a happy and productive work environment that represents the culture of our brand Maintains effective store staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees Having an awareness of the training resources available and being able to teach, coach and develop your team to their full potential Completes store operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees appropriately, delivering feedback while following up on work results Run effective monthly touch bases and end of year appraisals to celebrate successes and highlight actions plans for improvement Maintains store staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results Liaising with regional managers and other relevant departments to positively communicate relevant information to the team, and implement any outlined strategies Support Gotham initiatives in-store, including frequent on-site events Identifies current and future customer requirements by establishing rapport with potential and actual customers and other persons in a position to understand service and selling requirements Maintains operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing programs, operational, and personnel policies and procedures Ensures communication of merchandise needs while maintaining and taking accountability for store inventory Secures merchandise by implementing security systems and measures, including but not limited to external and internal loss prevention; responsible for accurate cannabis inventory/control for retail Partners with Inventory Manager on inventory to maximize sales and prevent loss Protects employees and customers by providing a safe and clean store environment Maintains the stability and reputation of the store by complying with legal requirements Being self-motivated to learn and committed to continuing your professional development Maintains professional and technical knowledge by training workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies Additional responsibilities as required Skills & Qualifications Customer Focus Mindset, Client Relationship Building Results Driven Focus Management and Leadership Experience Market Knowledge in Cannabis Ability to Lead Change Positively Strategic Planner and Mindset Staffing Experience including Recruitment, Interviewing, and Training Budget Expenses Tracking Clear Written and Verbal Communication Physical Requirements Business casual clothing Good hygiene Standing for 6+ hours Utilizing stairs throughout shifts Lifting 5-40 lb packages
