General Production Worker Job Description This role focuses on operating and monitoring production processes for plastic fuel tanks and related parts, using a variety of hand and power tools to produce high-quality components. You will follow written work orders, adhere to a repeatable process, perform detailed inspections, and ensure that all parts meet strict quality standards. The position requires consistent attention to detail, safe tool handling, and a strong commitment to learning and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Inspect plastic fuel tanks and other molded parts as they come off the rotational mold to ensure they meet quality and specification standards. Use hand and power tools to trim, shape, and finish parts according to written work orders and established procedures. Read and follow daily written work orders to complete tasks accurately and on schedule. Follow a repeatable production process to maintain consistency and quality across all parts produced. Use precision measuring instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, rulers, and measuring gauges, to verify dimensions and tolerances. Clean parts and strip defects from components as they are removed from molds to prepare them for final inspection and shipment. Perform quality checks on parts throughout the production process and identify any defects or nonconformities. Operate and handle various tools and equipment, including bandsaws, drills, sanders, routers, clamps, propane torches, trimmers, knives, shrink wrappers, tape machines, presses, cutters, chop saws, deburring tools, and other tools introduced over time. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area by following safety guidelines and proper tool usage procedures. Support general production, assembly, machine operation, and inspection tasks as needed to meet daily production goals. Essential Skills At least 6 months of experience working in a manufacturing facility. High school diploma or GED equivalent. Proficiency with drills and a variety of hand and power tools. Ability to read and follow written work orders accurately. Experience with part inspection and basic quality checks in a production environment. Capability to use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, rulers, and measuring gauges. Comfort working in general labor, production, machine operation, and inspection roles. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow a repeatable process consistently. Positive attitude and strong willingness to learn new skills and processes. Additional Skills & Qualifications Prior experience with assembly work in a manufacturing or production setting. Experience using tools such as bandsaws, drills, sanders, routers, clamps, propane torches, trimmers, knives, shrink wrappers, tape machines, presses, cutters, chop saws, and deburring tools. Comfort working with plastic components and molded parts. Ability to adapt to new tools and equipment as they are introduced into the production process. Openness to overtime opportunities and flexibility to support production needs. Work Environment This position operates on a 2nd shift schedule, Monday through Friday, from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., with a shift premium for working these hours. There is significant opportunity for overtime before or after the regular shift, and employees may work substantial additional hours per week when production demands increase, including occasional mandatory overtime on Saturdays. The role is based in a manufacturing facility where you will work around rotational molds and plastic components, using tools such as bandsaws, drills, sanders, routers, clamps, propane torches, trimmers, knives, shrink wrappers, tape machines, presses, cutters, calipers, micrometers, measuring gauges, chop saws, and deburring tools. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Beaver Dam, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
