Job Description:

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Manager in Geospatial Technologies. Step into a pivotal role that combines leadership, technical expertise, and innovative problem-solving. Tech Valley Talent (TVT) is seeking a dedicated Project Manager to oversee and coordinate complex geospatial projects supporting our client's diverse program areas. This long-term engagement offers a unique chance to contribute to impactful public sector initiatives while managing a talented team in a dynamic environment. In this role, you'll be the driving force behind our GIS support efforts, ensuring seamless data creation, editing, and maintenance across various platforms. You will manage the Client's Enterprise GIS platform, oversee the ArcGIS Online environment, and collaborate closely with web development teams to publish online maps. Your expertise will guide the automation of GIS workflows through Python scripting, enhance data query capabilities via SQL, and facilitate user support for access and functionality issues.

Daily Tasks:

Creating, editing, and maintaining geospatial data and custom map projects Managing and supporting the Enterprise GIS platform and ArcGIS Online environment Developing and publishing maps for authority websites, ensuring web accessibility standards are met Collaborating with web developers to publish online maps and spatial data solutions Querying enterprise SQL databases for data extraction and analysis Automating GIS processes using Python scripting to optimize workflows Providing technical support and training to staff on GIS platform access and functionalities Ensuring data integrity and security across all GIS-related activities Contributing to team objectives through additional duties as required

Required Skills:

Proven experience managing GIS projects in a professional setting Advanced knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Enterprise Proficiency with Python scripting for GIS automation SQL query development skills for enterprise databases Familiarity with geocoding tools, data standards, and map creation techniques Excellent troubleshooting and user support capabilities Ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders Nice to

Have Skills:

Certification as a Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP) or ESRI ArcGIS Professional Certification Experience with web accessibility standards for public-facing maps Familiarity with US Census Bureau data sources and data query techniques Experience with R Language Knowledge of web development processes related to GIS publishing

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Geography, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field A minimum of 3-5 years of professional GIS project management experience, preferably within the public sector
