Shipping Specialist

Job Requirements Oversee and manage the shipping and receiving process to ensure timely delivery of goods Plan and coordinate daily operations, including packing, loading and unloading of goods and scheduling of deliveries Ensure products are picked, packed and shipped accurately Maintain accurate inventory control and monitor product quality and condition Communicate with vendors, carriers, and customers to ensure efficient coordination of shipments as and when necessary Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise, such as wrong shipment, delays or damage to products in transit Work with Sales/finance in resolving credit, payment bottlenecks Recommend improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs Generate reports and maintain records of shipping activities and performance metrics Ensure safety is maintained in all operations. Skills and Abilities Good working knowledge of shipping/receiving processes, carrier systems (e.g., UPS, FedEx) Good understanding of Inventory Management and control Ability to ensure orders are accurate and shipped on time Should have good skills in handling delays, damaged goods, or shipping errors Basic knowledge of shipping regulations (domestic and international) Ability to lift heavy items ( up to 40 lbs), work in a fast-paced warehouse environment and stand or move for extended periods of time Knowledge of shipping documentation (bills of lading, packing lists, etc.) Good communication skills
