Job Description

Job Summary:
The Global Shop Production SME & Inventory Audit Specialist serves as the organization's key expert in Global Shop ERP usage across production and inventory functions. This position ensures accurate data flow between production, planning, and inventory operations, driving system integrity, process efficiency, and material accuracy. The role combines production troubleshooting, ERP process ownership, and inventory auditing responsibilities to maintain optimal shop performance and compliance with inventory control standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Global Shop ERP Support & SME Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary subject matter expert (SME) for Global Shop ERP in both production and inventory modules.
  • Help train and support team members in proper ERP use, including work order processing, routing accuracy, and material transactions.
  • Diagnose and resolve ERP-related issues ('bombs,' transaction errors, data mismatches), escalating to IT or vendor support when needed.
  • Maintain and update key system data: item masters, BOMs, routings, and warehouse locations. 2. Production Troubleshooting & Work Order Management
  • Monitor work orders and shop progress to identify issues impacting production (routing errors, missing materials, setup problems, etc.).
  • Determine root causes of production disruptions and coordinate corrective actions with production leads.
  • Validate and correct labor, material, and overhead entries tied to work orders.
  • Document recurring production issues and propose system or process improvements to reduce downtime.
  • Support real-time communication between production, planning, and inventory to ensure seamless flow of materials. 3. Inventory Control & Audit Management
  • Oversee and maintain inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts, variance analysis, and physical inventory audits.
  • Assist with reconciliation of discrepancies between system data and physical counts; help identify root causes and corrective actions.
  • Assist with development and maintain inventory audit procedures aligned with company and regulatory standards.
  • Work with Inventory Manager to help Lead inventory-related projects, including layout optimization, stock verification, and annual physical audits.
  • Support warehouse organization, labeling, and part traceability initiatives. 4. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
  • Collaborate closely with production, purchasing, planning, and quality teams to ensure data integrity and operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
Education:
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Manufacturing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience:
3-5 years of experience in manufacturing environments with exposure to both production operations and inventory management. Strong working knowledge of Global Shop ERP (or equivalent manufacturing ERP). Proven experience conducting inventory audits and reconciliations.
Skills:
Advanced troubleshooting and analytical abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, data validation). Strong communication and training skills across departments. Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities. Familiarity with manufacturing workflows, materials, and BOM structures.
Working Conditions:
Primarily presence on the production floor and in warehouse areas. Expected to engage directly with operators, supervisors, and material handlers to ensure real-time visibility of operations.
Pay:
$18.50 - $20.00 per hour
