Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have: Valid CT teaching certificate for this position (013, 005, or 305) Interest in working in a high-performing district in an intermediate school environment Strong understanding of effective teaching strategies in the content areas of this assignment Familiarity and/or experience with teaching reading and language arts and understanding of supporting literacy comprehension, vocabulary usage, response to text, and communication skills Familiarity and/or experience with teaching social studies and understanding of the Connecticut Social Studies Framework Familiarity and/or experience in utilizing small group instruction to support a wide-range of learners Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners Effective classroom management skills that promote a positive learning environment Desire to work in a partnership teaching arrangement Willingness to participate in collaborative lesson planning Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to integrate technology into instruction Knowledge of effective MTSS practices Commitment to promoting a positive culture
Responsibilities:
The teacher will be a part of a two-person team and provide instruction in language arts and social studies.
