Job Overview:

As a Grounds & Property Care Associate at Bluefish Vacation Rentals, you'll be an essential member of our Maintenance and Grounds Department, reporting directly to the Property Maintenance and Grounds Department Manager. Your work plays a key role in creating the first impression of our homes, making sure each property feels just as welcoming from the outside as it does inside. This is a hands-on, outdoor role focused on property care, exterior readiness, and presentation. You'll be responsible for maintaining clean, well-prepared outdoor spaces and ensuring each home meets Bluefish standards for guest arrival. While tasks may vary from day to day, the goal remains consistent: every property should feel clean, intentional, and guest-ready at all times. This role is a great fit for someone who takes pride in their work, notices details others might miss, and enjoys being outdoors. This is not a technical maintenance role, and no advanced repair or trade experience is required.

Key Responsibilities:

Property Care & Outdoor Readiness Perform daily exterior upkeep at vacation homes, including driveways, walkways, patios, decks, and porches Blow leaves, sweep sand, clear cobwebs, and maintain clean outdoor surfaces Clean and reset grills and firepits Set up, wipe down, and arrange outdoor furniture, cushions, and umbrellas Restock guest-facing outdoor supplies such as firewood and s'mores kits Ensure all outdoor areas are clean, safe, and consistently guest-ready Curb Appeal & Presentation Stage patios, decks, and outdoor spaces to align with Bluefish brand standards Remove trash, debris, and anything that takes away from the overall presentation Set up welcome signage, seasonal décor, and other small guest-facing details Reset spaces so they feel consistent, intentional, and ready for each arrival Identify and report when an exterior space needs additional cleaning, servicing, or maintenance support to meet Bluefish presentation standards Identify and report any damage or issues that require attention from the maintenance team Communication & Team Collaboration Coordinate with Maintenance, Housekeeping, Laundry, and Front Office teams to support property readiness Use company tools to complete checklists and update work orders Support same-day needs and property walkthroughs as assigned Communicate clearly and proactively to help ensure a smooth guest experience Equipment & Safety Safely operate company equipment, including blowers, pressure washers, and basic hand tools Follow proper handling and care procedures for all equipment Store equipment properly at the end of each shift and report any issues Maintain safe work habits and follow company protocols at all times Identify and report any outdoor safety concerns or property conditions that could affect the guest experience or create risk on-site Work safely in changing weather conditions and use sound judgment when outdoor conditions require extra caution Additional Responsibilities Assist with simple, non-technical tasks such as replacing batteries or light bulbs as needed Support snow and ice removal during the off-season when applicable Take on additional hands-on tasks that support overall property readiness

What We're Looking For:
