GSRP Assistant Teacher

Overview Join our dedicated team as a GSRP (Great Start Readiness Program) Assistant Teacher, where you will play a vital role in fostering a nurturing and engaging early childhood education environment. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with young children, supporting their developmental milestones and inspiring a love for learning. As an Assistant Teacher, you will collaborate with lead teachers to implement curriculum plans, manage classroom activities, and create a positive space where children can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Requirements of an Assistant Teacher Looking for someone who is positive, caring, loving, and patient Must work well with others Able to lift children of varying ages and equipment of varying sizes Early childhood experience is required An associate degree (AA) in early childhood education or child development or the equivalent; or A valid Center-Based Preschool CDA credential. OR must be currently enrolled in Center-Based Preschool CDA credential. Duties Assist lead teachers in developing and executing lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, and social-emotional learning. Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and implementing behavior management strategies. Engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote childhood development, including preschool methodologies. Help create an inclusive environment by working effectively with children with disabilities or autism, ensuring all students receive personalized attention. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment conducive to active learning and preschool care. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about children's progress and classroom events to foster strong home-school connections. Assist with classroom routines such as snack time, nap time, and outdoor play while adhering to childcare best practices. Help plan and prepare a safe classroom environment Supervise children in classroom and on playground at all times, which may include lifting children and/or equipment. Maintain a professional and positive attitude. Daily communication with parents. Skills Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles, including childhood development and classroom management techniques. Experience working with young children in daycare or preschool settings; private school experience is a plus. Familiarity with curriculum development focused on literacy education, math skills, and behavior management strategies. Ability to work effectively with individuals with autism or other disabilities, demonstrating patience and adaptability. Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members, parents, and community partners. Knowledge of Creative Curriculum or other specialized teaching approaches is desirable. Demonstrated ability to manage classroom activities efficiently while maintaining a nurturing environment for children of diverse needs. Pay:
